|Recommended: YesPeaceful, Welcoming, Relaxing — It creates a sense of being in the woods secluded from the busy fast pace life of the city, while living in the city. Extremely Dog and pet friendly
|Recommended: YesSolid place to live — Our 2 bedroom apartment provides the perfect amount of space for us and our pets - not to mention the private garage adds great additional storage space. In addition - the courtyard area is cute and well kept _
|Recommended: YesGreat Property and Great Staff — Pretty convenient location and nice apartment. The property staff and maintenance staff are sincere and super courteous
|Recommended: YesA Relaxed Property — I enjoy living at Yorktown Apartments residents are around 22-40 years old, and it is a quiet neighborhood with a few children playing outside and friendly neighbors. The apartments are really well insulated for both cold and heat, and I don't find myself smelling someone else's dinner. Many residents have dogs, including myself, which is nice to have in common I almost never hear barking.
Overall, I would highly recommend these apartments and, having lived in another set of apartment owned by the same people, I would recommend Steve Brown Apartments overall.
|Recommended: YesI love living here — The apartment is spacious and the people are friendly The grounds are beautiful. There is a real sense of community here.
|Recommended: YesI've lived here 38 years and friends have always commented on the coziness of the place — Three buildings surround a greensward with huge oak trees to make you feel in the middle of nature creates a lovely experience. I've always been treated well by the management and feel it more of a home than a transient apartment.
|Recommended: YesSufficient — It is a high quality complex with quiet neighbors
|Recommended: YesMy review — Decent place to live. Generally quiet. Close to many amenities.
|Recommended: NoWorst property management ever — I co-signed for someone, I was not involved in decisions that affect me. I don't even know the address to the place. I've called several months stating if the person gets more than 2 months behind on rent to evict them and they wouldn't. They are all for the money. So now I'm stuck in a lease they won't break because they know they'll get the money for it. Constantly showing up with little notice for maintenance according to the tenant, leaving stupid notes for everything. Very strict. Avoid at all costs.
|Recommended: YesWonderful place to live — Great neighborhood, clean, safe quiet complex with friendly neighbors. Management maintenance always respond promptly when called upon.
|Recommended: YesNew to the scene — New here, so these are things we're noticing just moving in. Adjustments always need to be made when moving in. Perhaps things will look different in the near future.
Pros The grounds are nice and well-maintained. The apartment has a lot of natural light. Noise is at a good level. Can't hear neighbours. Love the garage. Love the huge walk-in closet. The management staff and maintenance staff respond quickly and are friendly and helpful. Nice to have w d in the apartment. Neighbours are friendly.
Cons Parking is limited and unsigned, so someone can park in two places. Parking to load unload is not mover-friendly. The kitchen shelves are so small that we have to buy a pantry to hold most of our common food grocery items. The kitchen drawers feel like they're off their tracks. The oven stove is outdated. It has only 1 big burner - which works infrequently. No microwave. The bathrooms are small. If you're standing by your toilet, the door will hit you when you close it. While nice to have a w d, the lid to the washer does not stay open.
|Recommended: YesGreat Property, Management, and People — When we bought our first home, management staff was super helpful, kind and professional letting us buy out, and we really appreciate them
|Recommended: YesIt's a well-kept, beautiful property. — It's nice having so few neighbors, and staff is friendly. It's been a good experience
|Recommended: YesI would recommend this complex — Yorktown apartments are fine for what you pay for. Common areas are clean and do not smell of all tenants cooking combined. Having a garage is convenient. Having small children that constantly run and jump around in the apartment above us is extremely distracting and annoying, but that's bad luck of having awful neighbors.
|Recommended: YesNice, but very small. Need more storage. — I would say that it is a good place to rent, unless you have a disability. That person would never make make it up to my apt. And I have several friends who can't come up to see me because of this. We have had one serious fall, myself, where I had to be hospitalized but no others. Maybe they could check and see what they would have to do to bring this building into compliance. I don't think this one would pass the test for the Federal Disability Law. So far so good. the maintenance is first rate. Building is well kept.
