My reviewsubmitted by Brittany D. - |Recommended: YesDecent place to live. Generally quiet. Close to many amenities.
Worst property management eversubmitted by Allisa B. - |Recommended: NoI co-signed for someone, I was not involved in decisions that affect me. I don't even know the address to the place. I've called several months stating if the person gets more than 2 months behind on rent to evict them and they wouldn't. They are all for the money. So now I'm stuck in a lease they won't break because they know they'll get the money for it. Constantly showing up with little notice for maintenance according to the tenant, leaving stupid notes for everything. Very strict. Avoid at all costs.
Wonderful place to livesubmitted by Heather L. - |Recommended: YesGreat neighborhood, clean, safe quiet complex with friendly neighbors. Management maintenance always respond promptly when called upon.
New to the scenesubmitted by Michele B. - |Recommended: YesNew here, so these are things we're noticing just moving in. Adjustments always need to be made when moving in. Perhaps things will look different in the near future. Pros The grounds are nice and well-maintained. The apartment has a lot of natural light. Noise is at a good level. Can't hear neighbours. Love the garage. Love the huge walk-in closet. The management staff and maintenance staff respond quickly and are friendly and helpful. Nice to have w d in the apartment. Neighbours are friendly. Cons Parking is limited and unsigned, so someone can park in two places. Parking to load unload is not mover-friendly. The kitchen shelves are so small that we have to buy a pantry to hold most of our common food grocery items. The kitchen drawers feel like they're off their tracks. The oven stove is outdated. It has only 1 big burner - which works infrequently. No microwave. The bathrooms are small. If you're standing by your toilet, the door will hit you when you close it. While nice to have a w d, the lid to the washer does not stay open.
Great Property, Management, and Peoplesubmitted by Nicholas S. - |Recommended: YesWhen we bought our first home, management staff was super helpful, kind and professional letting us buy out, and we really appreciate them
It's a well-kept, beautiful property.submitted by Aubree A. - |Recommended: YesIt's nice having so few neighbors, and staff is friendly. It's been a good experience
I would recommend this complexsubmitted by Sean D. - |Recommended: YesYorktown apartments are fine for what you pay for. Common areas are clean and do not smell of all tenants cooking combined. Having a garage is convenient. Having small children that constantly run and jump around in the apartment above us is extremely distracting and annoying, but that's bad luck of having awful neighbors.
Nice, but very small. Need more storage.submitted by Sandy B. - |Recommended: YesI would say that it is a good place to rent, unless you have a disability. That person would never make make it up to my apt. And I have several friends who can't come up to see me because of this. We have had one serious fall, myself, where I had to be hospitalized but no others. Maybe they could check and see what they would have to do to bring this building into compliance. I don't think this one would pass the test for the Federal Disability Law. So far so good. the maintenance is first rate. Building is well kept.
Location amazing, apartment pretty goodsubmitted by Konner A. - |Recommended: Yeslocation amazing, apartment pretty good
It's an ok property.submitted by Bridget B. - |Recommended: YesMake sure you are friends with your upstairs neighbors, you can hear them walking, listening to the t.v. and other things It's a place that many call home, we just figured after being here we are just not apartment people I do think it is a bit pricey but would recommend to others who like larger apartment living.
Great space submitted by Heather G. - |Recommended: YesThe courtyard is a great space. It makes it feel like you have a backyard even though you are living in an apartment.
Sufficientsubmitted by Tracey G. - |Recommended: YesIt has been good for us - good location to my girls schools and a quiet neighborhood and mostly young families and professionals. I have been here three years and have stayed because of the reasons listed above. However, recently they have allowed college students to move in and I am really hoping it is not going to be a trend as there have been very loud partying the last few nights. This neighborhood and these building have mostly been been families and professionals. If the partying college student trend continues we will not be renewing. hopefully is just an anomaly that will not continue.
response from property -Tracey, thanks for the feedback and for letting us know there have been issues with noise. I'd encourage you to talk to these residents and ask them to keep things quiet starting at a reasonable hour. If the problem persists, document the behavior and keep us in the loop please. This blog post we wrote does a good job of summing up your options: https://stevebrownapts.com/blog/how-to-quiet-a-noisy-neighbor-and-avoid-being-one-yourself/. I would also like to add that we adhere to all fair housing laws. Anyone 18 yrs or older who meets our application criteria is welcome to rent at Yorktown and always has been.
